Campbell, 'Skins shock Cowboys at Texas Stadium

Irving, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jason Campbell threw a pair of touchdown
passes, as the Washington Redskins stunned the Dallas Cowboys, 26-24, in a
clash between NFC East rivals.
Campbell completed 20-of-31 passes for 231 yards and Clinton Portis gained 121
yards on the ground for the Redskins (3-1). Santana Moss had a game-high eight
receptions for 145 yards.
"Every week it gets tougher in the NFL," Campbell said. "I thought my guys
came out and fought hard today. Offensively, defensively, it was a great team
victory. (The Cowboys) are a tremendous football team."
Tony Romo completed 28-of-47 passes for 300 yards with three touchdowns and
one costly interception for the Cowboys (3-1). Jason Witten and Terrell Owens
each caught seven balls, including one touchdown apiece.
"It was just a tough day," Romo said. "You can't take anything away from them,
they did a good job. All of us had some issues today where we just have to get
better in our situations where we got to win."
The Redskins defense bottled up Marion Barber, limiting him to a mere 26 yards
on eight carries.
"It's a big victory because we were ahead on points but it was a very, very
close game," said Redskins head coach Jim Zorn. "It feels good to take strikes
and it feels even better to have that football team believe in what we are
doing. As a head football coach what can I say? We just beat Dallas in
Dallas."
Dallas found paydirt on the opening drive of the second half. Starting at
their own 43, Romo hit Owens for an 18-yard completion on first down. An 11-
yard pass to Owens and a 15-yard scamper by Barber placed the ball at the
Washington 10. Romo then hooked up with Owens over the middle for a 10-yard
score, which tied the game at 17.
"It's no secret, when I get the ball (the offense starts to move)," Owens
said. "If not you see a stagnate in the offense."
The Redskins, though, quickly marched to the Dallas 6 on the ensuing drive,
but two infractions by Casey Rabach nullified a pair of touchdowns, forcing
the visitors to settle for a 33-yard field by Shaun Suisham.
With time winding down in the third quarter, Romo's intended pass to Miles
Austin was picked off by Chris Horton and he returned the ball to the Cowboys'
44. Washington advanced the ball to the 15 before the drive stalled and
Suisham came on to kick a 33-yard field goal less than five minutes into the
final frame.
Dallas failed to record a first down on its next series, and Campbell directed
the Redskins on a 12-play drive that originated from their own 34 and chewed
up nearly seven minutes of the clock. Suisham's fourth field goal of the game
-- a 29-yarder -- gave Washington a 26-17 lead with 3:22 to play.
Romo then led the Cowboys on an eight-play, 87-yard drive, and his 11-yard
strike to Austin cut the deficit to two with 1:42 left in regulation. Dallas
was unable to recover the onside kick and Washington ran out the remainder of
the clock.
The Cowboys led 7-0 after the opening quarter on Romo's 21-yard TD pass to
Witten, but Washington scored 17 straight points in the second frame to go
up 17-7. Campbell threw touchdown passes of three yards to James Thrash and
two yards to Antwaan Randle El before Suisham kicked a 20-yard field goal
with 1:53 remaining. Nick Folk then narrowed the 'Skins advantage to seven by
drilling a 36-yarder as time expired.
